Speech pathology
for Coomera
and the north.

Identity-affirming, NDIS-registered. Designed for northern Gold Coast families who'd rather not battle the M1 — almost all telehealth, occasional clinic visits at Burleigh.

Coomera works because telehealth works

The Coomera / Pimpama / Upper Coomera corridor is full of young families and underserved by neurodiversity-affirming speech pathology — most clinics are concentrated further south or up in Brisbane. Telehealth solves the geography: you don't need a clinic 15 minutes away if the clinic comes to your kitchen table on Zoom.

The research on telehealth speech pathology is genuinely solid across the age groups we work with. For most goals — autism-affirming language work, GLP, school advocacy, teen and adult work, parent coaching — telehealth is as effective as in-person. See how telehealth works for the longer answer.

When Coomera families come to Burleigh

  • First AAC trial — being in the same room with the device pays off
  • Toddler assessment — sometimes useful to be on the floor together
  • A "sticky" session where progress has stalled and we want to mix it up
  • By choice, when the family wants the option of in-person occasionally

The clinic is at Burleigh Heads, ~40 minutes south down the M1. Most Coomera families do one or two clinic visits a year, max.

Coomera-area schools

We work with schools across the northern corridor — Coomera, Pimpama, Upper Coomera, Helensvale, Hope Island. School consults run on Zoom; we draft accommodations documents the school can use and we attend IEP/ILP meetings when wanted.

NDIS

Speech Sprout is NDIS-registered. Self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed plans all work. NDIS pricing is the same regardless of suburb or management type — Price Guide rates, full stop. See how NDIS works at Speech Sprout.

Starting

Free 15-minute call first — over Zoom or phone, whichever suits. We'll talk through what's going on and decide whether speech pathology is the right next step.

Common questions

Do you have a clinic in Coomera?
No — our clinic is at Burleigh Heads (about 40 minutes south down the M1). Almost all of our Coomera caseload runs via telehealth, with in-clinic sessions at Burleigh only when there's a specific reason to come down.
Is telehealth really as effective as in-clinic for my kid?
For most of what we work on — yes. The research on telehealth speech pathology with kids, teens and adults is solid. The exceptions are usually first-time AAC trials and some toddler assessments, where being in the same room is genuinely useful. Even then, we can usually start telehealth and book a one-off clinic visit when needed.
Coomera and Pimpama are growing fast — are you taking new families?
Yes, but we keep the caseload small on purpose. There's usually a 2–3 week wait between the free 15-minute call and your first session. We'd rather be honest about that than over-book and rush.
Can NDIS travel be claimed for in-clinic Burleigh sessions?
Travel is the participant's, not the provider's, so no claim involved on the speech pathology side — you just drive down. Many Coomera families do most of their work via telehealth specifically to avoid the M1 trip.
