Speech pathology in
Burleigh Heads.

Our home clinic. Identity-affirming, NDIS-registered speech pathology for kids, teens, adults and families across Burleigh and the southern Gold Coast.

Burleigh is home base

Speech Sprout's physical clinic is in Burleigh Heads. It's a small, deliberately quiet room — soft light, predictable layout, a basket of fidgets and chews, an AAC tablet always within reach, plants, books, no fluorescent ceiling panels. The kind of room we wish more clinics looked like.

We see Burleigh families in-clinic, in-home when that's the better setting (especially for toddlers and AAC set-up), and via telehealth for follow-ups or when the day just isn't going to work for an in-person session. The clinic is the anchor; the work flexes around the family.

Who we work with locally

  • Toddlers across Burleigh, Miami, Burleigh Waters, Tallebudgera and the southern coast
  • School-age kids attending local primary schools — public, Catholic and independent
  • Teens (12–17), often via telehealth, occasionally in-clinic
  • Late-diagnosed and self-identifying autistic adults from across the Gold Coast
  • Families wanting parent-only coaching, no kid in the room

What sessions look like in Burleigh

A typical week mixes 45-minute clinic sessions with 1–2 home visits for early- intervention or AAC trial families, and telehealth for parent coaching and teen/adult work. Sessions can be one-off, fortnightly blocks, or open-ended ongoing — there's no enrolled program with a fixed end date.

The clinic has a small AAC library — Proloquo, TouchChat with WordPower, LAMP, Avaz, and PODD books — so we can run trials onsite. See AAC on the Gold Coast for the full AAC pathway.

Working with Burleigh schools

We work with schools across the Burleigh / Miami / Palm Beach area on accommodations, communication passports, classroom-level strategies and IEP/ILP meetings. Most school consults are short — a 30-minute Zoom with the teacher, SLSO and learning support coordinator — and produce a one-page document the school can actually use. We attend in person where it helps and where the family wants us there.

NDIS

We are an NDIS-registered speech pathology provider. Self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed plans all work. See how NDIS works at Speech Sprout for the management-type breakdown.

Starting

Free 15-minute call first — Zoom or phone. We'll talk through what's going on and decide together whether the clinic is the right setting, or home visits, or telehealth, or some mix.
